The Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay For Life is taking place at Western this Saturday March 24th in the UCC from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. This fundraiser offers an opportunity to celebrate survivors, remember lost loved ones, and raise funds for vital cancer research. The event consists of an inspirational 12 hour relay-style walk, with many activities incorporated into the evening. This year’s activities will include:

  • Minute to Win It
  • “Defender Dome” (blow up dodgeball dome)
  • Live Musical Entertainment
  • Yoga

The evening commences with the Opening Ceremonies, which include survivor’s speeches and the Survivor’s Victory Lap. Later in the night, luminaries dedicated to loved ones are placed around the track and lit in remembrance of those who have lost the battle to cancer. Luminaries can be bought online or at the event for $5.00 minimum donation. Other ceremonies include the Fightback Ceremony and the Closing Ceremonies at the end of the night.
