With summer 2k12 now in its twilight stages and the school year of 2012/2013 on our doorstep, it is imperative that we recap the past several months with music that has made its way onto our playlists and have wedged themselves deep in our brain, making us sing and hum them for days on end, for better or worse. Sasquatch, Osheaga, Veld, Digital Dreams, WEMF, Identity, and dozens of incredible concerts swept Canada from coast to coast, bringing premier musical acts to festivals and cities around our glorious nation, entertaining many thousands of Western students wherever they went. Here is a playlist of some of the best songs that may have flown under the radar, been played repetitively on every radio station, finally gained the traction the song deserves, or even have been the showstopping track that every dj cranked out in each of their sets this summer.
