I thought I’d spook things up a bit for Halloween. What better way to celebrate this week’s letter M, than with MONSTERS!? If anyone could be at your pre-drink this week, I bet you’d want it to be Michael Myers — at least for the bragging rights. For this week’s Alphabet Soup, I’m bringing you Figure’s latest bass-filled Monsters LP, which is more than appropriate for any celebrations you have in mind for this week.
If you’re unfamiliar with the sounds of Figure, think: heavy, bass-filled, joy. Figure goes all out on this latest album and gives his listeners the perfect treat, just in time for a haunted night. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart, as it’s some pretty serious, head-throwing dubstep. Nonetheless, Figure has made some unreal collaborations on this volume of Monsters, including none other than Motley Crew’s Tommy Lee! On their collabo “Pounds of Blood”, Tommy lends his skillful hands to Figure’s haunting sounds and the result is a perfectly orchestrated Halloween track. After taking a listen to the album, I’d have to say that my top picks would be the Dr. Ozi remix of “The Grave Yard” and “Creepin”, which features vocals from Proe. This entire album will send shivers down your spine and definitely set the mood for the night (or the week, whichever you choose). Just remember, I give fair warning that this album should not be listened to on a late night walk home from the bar (especially on Halloween night!)
Below, I’ve included some of a sample of the songs that you can expect to find on this album. If you’re not down for pirating music, you can purchase the album HERE.
Happy Halloween, love Figure.
