There’s a lot of really cool shows on TV right now. Honestly, there’s everything you could want from intricate plots on dramatic series like Breaking Bad and Walking Dead, to roll on the floor laughing comedies like Modern Family and New Girl. However, as well as great shows being on television, great characters are also littering the silver screen. It might just be me, but I usually believe that I would be the best of friends with characters on a TV show- if only we got the chance to meet and they actually existed. So here is my list of TV characters who I would be honoured to call my best friend.
1. Arya Stark (Game of Thrones)
This girl is a G. Straight up. Arya gave up on that whole being a lady thing and decided she was more keen to learn swordsmanship. She’s as feisty and smart as she is resourceful and strong. She grew up in a place called Winterfell AND dreams of being a Direwolf. Um, pardon?! You dream you’re a wolf?!?! (Granted, all the Stark children have this privilege but Arya’s is better) So anytime Arya Stark wants to be my best friend, I’m down. I think she would make me a lot more cool.
2. Cameron Tucker (Modern Family)
Modern Family is maybe the best show on television and the most popular. If you need to find a show to watch in a group bigger than four people, toss out Modern Family and I can guarantee you will have no objections. But why Cameron? Why not learn something from the most confident person I know? He also has a strong love for NCAA football which is a direct link to my heart. Cameron also happens to love the theatre and has the cutest daughter ever. And let’s be serious… Every girl does need a gay best friend.
3. Vinny Chase (Entourage)
Because why wouldn’t you want all access passes to all the best parties, all the best clothing, all the best clubs and all the best hotels? And why wouldn’t you want to do all this with your best friends from back home? So well it may be super cool to be Vince, it would be even better to be Turtle (circa season three). Turtle, one of Vince’s best friends led a college-esque lifestyle except hyper escalated to the nth degree due to Vince’s super power. He was still just chillin’, but he was chillin’ in a mansion in LA before an exclusive Red Bull party at a club in Malibu. Yup, I’m down for that.
So while I do have the best friends in the world, whenever any of these characters (or a few others even) want to join the clique, they’re totally invited.
