Reviewing runway and streetstyle pictures of Haute Couture week in Paris was marvelous, yet bittersweet. The last time Haute Couture week was happening in Paris, I was there shooting pictures myself. Unfortunately, I must credit the following photos to Vogue.fr. C’est la vie.
Versace: Versace stayed true to itself, showcasing form-fitting, silhouette-emphasizing pieces. However, even though there were the usual touches of gold, neutral colours and greys were present. Like many of the other shows last week, bright green and ornate necklines were prominent in this collection.

Dior: I think the hair and make-up of a collection is what ties the whole look together. I love how clean the makeup was in this collection, I especially loved the fake bobs on all the models. This is most definitely a hairstyle I will be trying out the next time I have time on my hands. Like many of the other collections, short dresses appeared on Dior couture runway. The colour palate was black, white, and fairly neutral compared to past collections which poured out colour on the runway.

Givency: If you ever had your septum pierced it’s time to re-pierce it and grab a GIANT septum ring, like the ones in Givenchy’s collection. The collection was much more grunge than the anticipated draped gowns-while they were still present, were put together with zippers, chains, spikes, and lots of bad-ass jewelry. This collection was a true demonstration of the intricate work that goes into couture pieces.

Below are a few of the other trends that I noticed across the collections: exotic leather pieces, bright greens, intricate necklines, and black and white.
