“Watch the Throne” to hit T.O.

jordanmccauley Posted on November 19, 2011

It has already been established by many that Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch the Throne album has dominated the hip-hop scene recently with their soulful and powerful track list and an insane amount of riveting reviews. The WTT tour is one of the biggest tours of the year and has many hip-hop fans jumping for joy to see their top two favourites on one stage performing what has been rumored to be an absolutely stellar concert. Many cannot wait until the upcoming show in Toronto this Wednesday, November 23rd at the Air Canada Centre. So many, in-fact, that they have added another show for the following day (Thursday, November 24th)!

This show promises to be legendary with jam-packed performances by the pair. Would you expect any less from this powerful, dynamic duo? I wouldn’t. By combining two of the most influential hip-hop artists of our time–the concert couldn’t be anything less than amazing. Correct? CORRECT.

Some reviews of previous shows…

The show was a phenomenal combination of innovative, technological stage designs, lights, and pyros synched to the beat, matched by outstanding performances by two nationally acclaimed artists who combined together made for a show of dynamic proportions”. – Palm Beach Entertainment

“Many in the high-energy crowd remained standing—and swaying and dancing and singing—for the entire 2½-hour show. At one point, as Jay-Z and West performed ‘N—as in Paris’ from their hit Watch the Throne CD, West exhorted the audience to ‘Bounce! Bounce!’ The resulting stomping had Philips Arena rocking and shaking in a way that it hasn’t for the Hawks in a long time.” – USA Today

“While there was virtually no way a concert featuring Jay-Z and Kanye West could ever be a dud, we have to say the duo lived up to our high expectations with last night’s kick-off of their Watch the Throne tour. The hip-hop monarchs performed at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, with an epic set list that featured selections from each artist’s own behemoth catalog of hits as well as their Watch the Throne collaborations.” – Idolater

“Overall, I would give this concert a 9.5 out of 10. For future dates, the Watch The Throne tour needs to either have an opening act or DJ playing music to get everyone hyped that came on time. But seeing Jay-Z live for the first time and having Kanye sing all of his hits all on one stage is a once in a lifetime opportunity that you need to check out if the tour comes to your city. Well worth it! Even if you get the cheap ceiling tickets of the upper row!” – Power 98 WPEG FM Radio Station

Jay-Z and Kanye West surprised the audience by raising themselves 20 feet above the floor while LED lights glowing blue and streaming videos of sharks lit up the thrones. They also had separate stages rise up from the front and the middle, allowing every member of the audience to catch a glimpse.
