Prince to Hit The JLC

jordanmccauley Posted on December 3, 2011

Your blast from the past is finally here, ladies and gentlemen! On December 5th, Prince is hitting The John Labatt Centre for his Welcome 2 Canada tour. This will be Prince’s first multi-city tour since 2002 and it has been rumored to be worth the wait.

Prince is an American singer, songwriter, musician and actor. He has produced ten platinum albums and over thirty Top 40 singles throughout his career thus far. On top of this, Prince has founded his own recording studio and label, while producing, writing and playing all of his own instruments on his recordings. Prince has also won seven Grammy Awards, one Golden Globe and an Academy Award. The golden boy was additionally welcomed into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, the very first year he was even eligible. Furthermore, Rolling Stone has ranked Prince number 27 on the list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. Impressive? Well, duh.

Prince first launched his Welcome 2 America tour last December in New York and received exceptional reviews.

“He had the crowd panting as soon as he hit the stage…It was unbelievably great. Do you go to a Prince show for predictable consistency? Ah, no. You go for moments of divinely inspired madness—and last night, he delivered as many of those as a fan could expect.” – Rolling Stone

“Prince is worthy of all royal accolades…The hit-friendly show had a kinetic confidence and racing pace that spoke of his singular place in pop history.” – The New York Daily

“It’s easy to envision Prince as another Chuck Berry or James Brown, barnstorming for decades to come.” – The New York Times
