This International Homeless Animals Day (Saturday August 20 from 10 AM – 6 PM) come help celebrate the ultimate Dog Party!
That’s right, Dog Party. Didn’t think that dogs could party? Think again.
Canada’s friendliest dog experience will feature a cost free off-leash fun zone, dock diving, streams, trail walking and a pond. There will be trainers present to offer you animal obedience and first aid advice. They can also help you teach your pup tricks! Pet psychics, 150 vendors and tons of free samples will also be available to lay your paws on.
And of course you can’t forget the Next Top Model Contest. Every year the festival runs a contest selecting the prettiest pooch who will be featured in posters for the following years festival. For the sportier k-9′s there’s a dock diving contest with over $400 in prizes available.
Not a pet owner? Everyone is welcome whether they have a furry friend to bring along or not.
Along with 300 volunteers the festival is run by the Animal Rescue Foundation of Ontario and the Leads Employment Services not-for-profit organizations.
On the third Saturday of August every year, organizations around the globe come together to celebrate International Homeless Animals Day. The purpose of the day is to bring attention to pet overpopulation epidemic. Animal rescue groups from across Canada will be bringing out their adorable adoptables to fundraise, network and help raise awareness for their cute cause.
