Have you wondered what it would be like if Facebook and Kijiji were one big interactive website? A website where not only friendships and classifieds are shared, but one with real face-to-face interaction. Is this even possible? Check it out.
Only a month old, Uniiverse.com has hit like a tidal wave in Canada, the US, Brazil, Venezuela, Japan, and Greece. The headquarters lie in Toronto, as the co-CEO Craig Follett is a graduate from our very own Richard Ivey School of Business.
Uniiverse places reliance and trust between individuals. It’s an extremely exciting and collaborative website.

Once you have signed up and logged in, you will observe that your Facebook friends who have connected already with Uniiverse will pop up on your “mini feed.” It’s extremely convenient, so you don’t have to add anybody. Above your “mini feed” there is the Services and Activities menu, this is where the excitement begins to unfold.
Let’s say you click “Food & Drink”, you will see that George makes great friend rice. Anybody interested?
And what’s great is the diversity of options to choose from since your profile is not limited to only your Facebook friends. There are posts from other people who settle nearby or very far away depending on what you are looking for. For example, if I click on “Smarter Living” I’ll see that there is ride for me to Toronto. I don’t know this person, but I can check out his trust score ensure my safety and comfort. (Don’t worry, the picture did not look intimidating before the eyes were blurred out).
Moreover, (I’m so excited about this option on the website) let’s look at the “Specialized People” menu. If I click it, I see that Adrian can tutor me in economics. This is great because I will always be able to get study help, and also offer my knowledge to others.
If you are wondering, it is free for anybody to post a listing. However if the one decides to charge for tickets, there is a transaction fee to the listing price. The website is also advertisement-free, which is fantastic.
